How Conscious Are You?

Updated: Jul 2

" It is helpful to remember that neither truth nor enlightement is something to be found, sought, acquired, gained, or possessed. The Infinite Presence is always present, and its realization occurs of itself when the obstacles to that realization are removed. It is, therefore, not necessary to study the truth, but only to let go of that which is fallacious. Moving away the clouds does not cause the sun to shine, but merely reveals what was hidden all along." Daily Reflections from Dr. David R. Hawkins.[1]

As our consciousness deepens, the need to seek outside of ourselves for greater truths literally comes to a screeching halt. So, it may be time to let meditation gently guide all of us forward. The answers we seek are within and a higher consciousness requires that we are no longer addicted to seeking—constant outside medical advice, spiritual classes, drug induced mystical experiences, yoga enlightenment workshops or any forced kundalini rising experiences. If you must go to Bible study to understand scripture, then JUST maybe you are seeking/reading the wrong spiritual literature—go within and ask.

Meditation teaches that we are not our mind or our body—BUT, then who are we? Learn to simply continue to go within and awaken a greater inner truth. This blog offers 3 important identifiers to help you navigate a powerful path forward:

Identifier # 1

The Sufis say that a conscious person reflects before reacting with strong emotions. This individual will ask: Is what I am thinking, speaking and embodying—TRUE, KIND, AND NECESSARY? We (the new earth citizens) don’t speak out and say whatever suits us. The “loose cannons” cause problems. It is time to ask the question: “Is what I am about to say true, kind and necessary?” I will guarantee that question alone will stop most of us dead in our tracks from giving voice to our expressive nature. Conscious people learn to speak less and listen more with their hearts.

Identifier #2

The conscious individual has a daily spiritual practice and lives a nondual (God focused) life. This simply means every day pray, meditate, and read a collection of spiritual classics. Your reality will shift. Albert Einstein consciously shared, “A Human being is part of the whole, called by us, “Universe,” a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest—a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures.”[2]

Use meditation to ask: Who am I, really? Ask if you are in a delusional prison of separateness and if so, open the doors to a deeper level of consciousness and to the spiritual oneness that exist everywhere.

Identifier #3

A conscious person accepts and surrenders to “what is” or in other words, aligns with divine order. This person finds no pleasure in struggling and going against the gain of life. A strong faith in Source (God) will provide all that is needed. At this stage, we acknowledge a difference between happiness and a deep sense of joy. The dance of life requires an understanding that happiness can be fleeting at times; however, joy does not rely on an external source and will always be right behind the clouds of illusion. Conscious people are both happy and joyful.

As your spiritual energy increases, your attraction to the world decreases. At this point, begin to ask yourself if you are ready for a deeper level of consciousness, then continue to pray, meditate, and contemplate. Ask daily to be shown a new way of being.
